Clotho, sister of Lachesis and Atropos, was the first of the Fates, which spun the thread of life from her distaff onto her spindle.
Lachesis, sister of Clotho and Atropos, was the second of the Fates, which measured the thread of life allotted to each person with her measuring rod.

Atropos, sœur de Clotho et de Lachesis, était la troisième des Parques, celle qui coupe impitoyablement le fil qui mesure la durée de la vie de chaque mortel.
Clotho, sœur de Lachésis et d’Atropos, était la première des Parques, celle qui fabrique et tient le fil des destinées humaines.
Lachésis, sœur de Clotho et d’Atropos, était la deuxième des Parques. C’est elle qui mesurait le fil de vie attribué à chacun à l’aide de sa toise.
